Tadalafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and. Tadalafil is also used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Tadalafil and sildenafil are the active ingredients in the medicine used to treat both erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Tadalafil is used to treat both erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). This medicine belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors.
Tadalafil treats, the inability to have or maintain an erection sufficient to have sex. It may help to increase the blood flow in the penis to help men get and keep an erection. It is not known whether tadalafil works in BPH.
Tadalafil is available in tablet form
Tadalafil tablets are available in tablet form as.
Do not take tadalafil tablets if:
• you are allergic to tadalafil or any of the ingredients in tadalafil.
• you have severe kidney problems
• you are taking medicines called nitrates.
• you are taking medicines called guanylate cyclase stimulators such as Riociguat.
• you are taking guanylate cyclase stimulators such as Xopenex.
If you are not sure if you are taking this medicine, talk to your doctor.
If you are taking tadalafil tablets, read the directions on the label.
Tadalafil tablets should be taken as one dose within a 24-hour period. The usual recommended dose is 50 mg taken about 30 minutes before sexual activity. Your doctor will decide how much you should take the next day.
If you are taking tadalafil tablets and do not have an erection, you may need to have sexual intercourse for 4 hours after taking the tablet.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
Tadalafil may affect the sexual function of women
Tadalafil can also affect fertility in women. If you have not told your doctor about any of the above, tell your doctor before taking tadalafil.
Women who are or may become pregnant must not take tadalafil.
The most common side effects of tadalafil are headache, flushing and upset stomach.
If you take tadalafil and have not told your doctor or pharmacist about any of the above, tell them before taking tadalafil.
Tadalafil may cause side effects that are not listed here.
Whether you can take Tadalafil at the same time as your other medications will depend on which medications you are taking.
You are required to complete a short medical consultation questionnaire that asks for any medications that you are prescribed from your GP and will indicate the medications that can’t be taken alongside Tadalafil.
There are several medicines which should not be taken concurrently with Tadalafil. Medicines which can have potentially serious interactions with Tadalafil include :-
• Any alpha-blocker medicines e.g. doxazosin (Cardura), alfuzosin (Xatral), tamsulosin, terazosin, or Flomax, that you can buy in the pharmacy. (These medicines may be used to treat prostate problems or high blood pressure).
• Isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, or use a GTN spray or tablets
for chest pain or use Rectogesic ointment?
• Nicorandil (Ikorel), used to treat angina
• Cimetidine, used to treat stomach or duodenal (peptic) ulcers
• Theophylline, used to treat asthma
• Antibiotics:- Clarithromycin, Erythromycin and Telithromycin
• Anti-fungals such as itraconazole and ketoconazole
• Seizure medication:- carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone
• Heart or blood pressure medication:- disopyramide, amiodarone, quinidine and procainamide
• Anti-viral medication:- telaprevir, atazanavir, retonavir, indinavir, saquinavir and cobicistat
• Recreational drugs:- amyl nitrate (poppers)

How toquistate TadalafilAs with all medicines, this consultation should be scheduled once your next GP surgery or other surgery is complete. Be sure to mention “my GP” in the patient information leaflet you are about to take.

• A medication that should not be taken with Tadalafil
• A medication that you need to take every day to which no other medication should be contraindicated
• A medication that you are taking as tolerated.
You are required to briefing your GP about any previous side effects or medication interactions with Tadalafil. We will advise you before you take Tadalafil, as it may be more than you can take what your GP has recommended.
Tadalafil belongs to the group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors, primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Erectile dysfunction is the inability to keep a hard and erect penis suitable for sexual activity. Benign prostatic hyperplasia, also called prostate enlargement, is the non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland.
Tadalafil contains ‘Tadalafil’, which works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis; this allows the blood to flow into the penis when the person is sexually excited. Thereby, it helps to treat erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil relaxes the bladder and prostate muscles, thereby reducing enlarged prostate symptoms such as difficulty in urination and urgent need to urinate.
You are advised to take Tadalafil for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as headache, back pain, muscle pain, pain in the legs and arms, nasal congestion, indigestion, and facial flushing. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not take Tadalafil if you are taking nitrates (used to treat angina), riociguat (used to treat pulmonary hypertension) or alpha-blockers; if you have heart problems or stroke, low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure. Tadalafil is not intended for use in women. Tadalafil may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Avoid consuming alcohol as it might cause increased dizziness. Tadalafil should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and the medicines you are taking to avoid unpleasant side effects.

Warning:Tadalafil should not be used in women who are breastfeeding. Tadalafil does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases as it does not protect against HIV diseases as well as syphilis. Flushing may be more easily managed by pouring water on your face and gargling with a mild soap and warm soapy water. Flushing may be more easily managed by pouring water on your neck and head. Nasal congestion may be more easily managed by resting on a thin layer of clothing and brushing and flossing your teeth. Indigestion or back pain may be more easily managed by standing up quickly and using a constrictive-type physical therapist (a type of relaxation exercise).
Interactions:Taking Tadalafil with certain medicines can increase the risk of side effects. Therefore, if you are taking any of these medicines, tell your doctor about your full list of medicines before taking Tadalafil. Do not take Tadalafil if you are taking nitrates (used to treat angina). Riociguat may cause dizziness and fainting. Avoid using alcohol as it may cause increased dizziness and fainting. Tadalafil should not be used if you are taking any other medicines including recreational drugs. Alpha-blockers may worsen enlarged prostates. Nitrates are often used to treat pulmonary hypertension. If you are taking any type of nitrate, tell your doctor about your full list of medicines before taking Tadalafil.
